Meadhbh Raftery is a BACP registered Psychotherapist and a Trainee Counselling Psychologist. Meadhbh offers bespoke personal therapy tailored to the needs of each individual client she sees. She brings neuro-reeducation, contemporary psychodynamic theory, and a repertoire of evidence-based skills and techniques such as those from the person-centred approach and third wave cognitive behavioural therapies.
Meadhbh is passionate about harnessing psychology and neuroscience to help her clients to achieve new levels of success both personally and professionally. She is particularly skilled with helping high achievers to reach their goals, including athletes and professionals in business, finance, media and politics.
Experience and Qualifications
Meadhbh Raftery has over a decade of experience working with people with mental health difficulties. She has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, an MSc (merit) in Neuroscience, and is currently Trainee Counselling Psychologist. Meadhbh has extensive NHS experience – in neurology, mental health, forensic mental health, and specialist CAMHS – as well as in the education sector and charity work.
Meadhbh’s work is informed by a uniquely diverse skillset ranging from neuroscience to philosophy to sport. She takes a pluralistic and integrative approach to psychotherapy. This means incorporating ideas from different fields and psychological models to provide the highest standard of personalised care for each client. Meadhbh skilfully incorporates evidence-based techniques from the person-centred approach, psychodynamic theory, and cognitive behavioural therapy. Her work is grounded in humanistic values and ethics, which include respecting and valuing the uniqueness of each individual client.
