Isabelle Francke has a Master’s in Psychology, additional accreditation in Therapeutic and Counselling Skills, and is currently enrolled on a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology to become an HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist. She is registered with the British Psychological Society.
Therapy with Isabelle
Isabelle Francke works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, feelings of being “stuck,” social media anxiety, loneliness, and suicidal ideation.
Isabelle has a warm, collaborative approach when working with clients. She wants to create a safe and inviting space to explore what is going on for you and recognizes that there is not a “one size fits all” to therapy. In her sessions, she uses her foundation in person-centered psychology to establish a non-judgmental and authentic therapeutic relationship and tailors the sessions to the individual. She uses integrative approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, mindfulness, psychodynamic ideas, and acceptance commitment therapy.
Experience
Isabelle Francke has worked for third-sector organisations including; The Listening Place, offering suicidal individuals active listening support, Womankind supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, and Babbasa working with companies to improve inclusion for Black and other minoritized young people in their workplaces. Isabelle also has experience working with people who are LBTQIA+ and is passionate about issues impacting the community, as well as gender identity, and how this may or may not show up in therapy.
Isabelle also worked for ten years in Digital and Broadcast Media prior to becoming a therapist, so she recognizes and understands the demands and pressures of those industries, as well as the impact of social media on self-esteem, anxiety, and how people behave and interact in groups – and specialises in working with people experiencing these difficulties.
Isabelle Francke also has a background in and is continuing her education in drama therapy techniques, so can incorporate this knowledge into your sessions, especially when there is a need for creative expression to help your therapeutic journey. Play and fun can be extremely beneficial and necessary to the process!
Background
Isabelle Francke is half American, half German but grew up moving frequently, and has spent time living in Germany, England, and the United States (East and West Coasts) both as a child and an adult. This informs her work, and she is passionate about understanding the different identities and multitudes that make you unique, and how this informs who you are and what you will bring to your therapy.
