Download CVIram Siddiqui is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based at Bank and Harley St. Iram is accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). She mostly uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but she also uses other approaches such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR).
Iram has extensive experience of assessing a wide range of mental health problems using psychometric objective assessments and clinical interviews.
Iram’s area of expertise is treatment emotional difficulties such as depression, PTSD, OCD, GAD, Panic Disorder, Adjustment Disorders and EMDR for patients affected by trauma and anxiety.
As well as working in private practice Iram also works as a CBT therapist in the NHS. She combines organisational and analytical skills, with reliability and clear decision making. She displays focus, determination, and commitment to all her clients.
Iram sees clients with moderate to severe psychological health disorders. Her clients include victims of domestic violence, trauma and PTSD cases. She has particularly had extensive experience working with trauma clients. Some of which suffer with PTSD.
She has many clients who are affected by longstanding mental health problems. She believes that her skills and experience have given her confidence and a good understanding in being able to provide private treatment and medico legal reports for clients.
Iram’s enthusiasm, commitment and ability to view challenges from fresh perspectives are recognised invaluable parts of her character that efficiently resolve challenging situation. Iram was born in the UK but has lived abroad and is well travelled thus bringing a rare balance of empathy and a varied of cultural understanding to situations involving issues of cultural differences within both work and life.
Iram has experience delivered therapy in different languages such as conducting CBT in Urdu, Hindi & Punjabi to enable therapy for people without using a translator.
Iram has 10 years experience working with clients who present with Sleep difficulties as a result of other mental health difficulties affecting them. She has experience in delivering groups and specifically sleep hygiene techniques to help manage sleep difficulties. Iram’s understanding is that Insomnia can be a result of other mental health difficulties such as a manifestation of Anxiety and sometimes low mood. She has had training on sleep hygiene as part of her Psychotherapist training and has also read about how sleep difficulties may be a result of homeworking which is relevant to the pandemic.
