Private Therapy Clinic Eating Disorder Service provides a number of specialist options for both females and males with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and other eating disorders. The outpatient service is located at Harley St. Bank Victoria London and Worldwide over. We offer day patient eating disorder treatment through daytime and evening appointments.Our inpatient care service is offered at Montrose Manor in South Africa.
We offer the following Psychological therapies/Counselling to our day patient clients, depending on your individual needs.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – Focusing mainly in the hear and now, teaching you strategies to learn more helpful behaviours and challenging unhelpful thoughts and beliefs, which will help regulate your emotions.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) – A team work approach which teaches you various skill sets.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) – A treatment for major and minor life traumas, helping desensitise from the impact of negative experiences in your life, which still affect you in the hear and now. EMDR is particular good at helping with any type of anxiety disorders including physical anxiety.
MINDFULNESS – Learn to live in the present moment rather than letting your mind wonder to the past or future in an unhopeful way.
ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapy) – A deep and intensive form of therapy, which helps you overcome difficulties router in early life, particularly your relationship with parents, early life attachments and how they impact on your self-esteem, interpersonal relationships and behaviours in the hear and now.
PSYCHIATRY – If you need to be prescribed medication or in house Psychiatrist can take care of this.
FEELING WORK THERAPY – A unique therapy offer by Dr. Becky Spelman learned and adapted from her own personal therapist. This technique helps you to learn to really feel and stop suppressing emotions, learn to deal with anger, learn to confront people in an assertive way, overcome your relationship difficulties, build self-esteem and become healthier using the specific technique, which Dr. Becky will teach you.
ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) – Learn to notice that areas of your life, which you have neglected and commit to living your life in a way, which acknowledges your values and helps you focus on acting in a way that is consistent with what you value leading to a more fulfilling life.
SCHEMA FOCUSED THERAPY – We all hold unhelpful beliefs about yourself, learn to change these beliefs with Schema Focused Therapy.
OUT OF SESSION GUIDANCE – A 15-minute phone call out of sessions to advise you, guide you and keep you on track. Do not underestimate the guidance we are prepared to give you in between the sessions. When a situation comes up, we will be take to talk you through step by step what to do. Whether it’s teaching you how to feel your way through your emotions rather than suppressing them or teaching you how to confront a situation head on and assert yourself in a powerful way. Whatever guidance you need, we are here for you between the sessions and encourage you to get in touch for that extra guidance and reminders of what you have done in between the sessions.
GROUP WORK – Working in a group can give you the opportunity to tackle many interpersonal difficulties and have therapy in a group environment.
HOW IT WORKS
You will usually commit to a year of treatment and see various members of our team throughout this year who will offer you different times of interventions for different stages of your treatment. Dr. Becky Spelman will coordinate your treatment and advise you at every step of the way. Unfortunately any less than a year and it may not be enough time for you to get to a healthy place.
Because of intensive nature of the program, there are only 8 places on the Private Therapy Clinic Eating Disorder out Patient Program.
Fees: £150 per session including out of session guidance phone calls (£130 without out of session support).
Staff include specialist psychiatrists, Counselling Psychologist, CBT Psychotherapists, Nutritionists and other appropriate clinicians.
We accept self-referrals and all major health insurance companies.
