Avesta is a psychological counsellor and psychology graduate currently undertaking her Professional Doctorate. Avesta has had experience working with clients suffering from several psychological difficulties such as low mood, traumatic experiences, anxiety and depression.
Avesta is empathetic and understands that each individual will need a therapy plan catered to their own specific needs. The initial session will allow Avesta to understand what the difficulties are and to develop a therapy plan which will focus on the issues you want to work on, allowing you to form a clear vision of the therapeutic journey. The initial assessment provides the opportunity for you to share what your experience has been and to feel heard in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
Avesta will use Cognitive Behavioural therapy to help you focus on the present issues and to provide you with the skills and techniques to tackle any difficulties with confidence. She believes in motivation and encouragement as a big part of success in therapy and will help you to set achievable targets in sessions.
Avesta has had training in Mental Health and can help to identify first signs of various Psychological issues such as depression, anxiety and Psychosis. She will work collaboratively with you in order to bring a positive change in your life. Avesta has a vast amount of experience working with victims of crime and has worked with Victim Support. Avesta is trained in offering person centered and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques and has regular supervision with Dr Kannika Sukantarat.
Avesta is bilingual and can provide therapy in Dari/Farsi.
