Edward Fisher is a highly skilled assistant psychologist with extensive training in Psychodynamic and CBT approaches for basic to more complex mental health disorders. He has experience in treating depression, anxiety, worry, self-esteem, panic disorder, anger management, persecutory delusions, and other mental health disorders. Ed also receives regular supervision and ADHD coaching supervision and is the QBCheck Lead at the clinic trained by the QB Tech team.
Edward Fisher has shadowed top Harley Street clinicians’ methods, their therapeutic practice, and diagnostic tools. Using these tools where applicable, Ed applies this knowledge alongside his own methods acquired from training at the clinic to provide a quality tailored therapeutic approach. Ed believes that any one singular therapeutic model and treatment plan cannot always be applied the same way to everyone and acknowledges the individual differences between people and their presenting problems. It is because of this that Ed prefers a treatment approach that starts from the bottom up with the patient’s needs, their expectations and what they hope to achieve from therapy. This is outlined early on in the first session so that an appropriate treatment plan can be devised with the patient and make a most effectives use of time.
Ed’s bottom-up approach is reinforced by his acknowledgement of how difficult therapy can be, specifically talking about struggles an individual may be facing. Before someone meets a therapist for the first time, they are a complete stranger and so it can be difficult to open up on an initial meeting. Ed recognises this and is happy to develop a strategy to go at your pace. If it was simply a few sessions you were hoping for because of a busy lifestyle choice, financial struggle or personal preference versus more long-term weekly sessions Ed is accommodating for all therapeutic time spans to make the greatest positive impact in someone’s life.
Delusions
As a area of specialty Ed Fisher joined the clinic with a deep understanding of delusions, specifically persecutory delusions. As a result of this has excellent communication skills and experience in screening complex clients such as DID, BPD, schizophrenia/psychosis. Ed’s approach as a therapist recognises that most delusions come from a place of rationality and logic. The difficulty can be when they become more severe, unfounded and start controlling our day to day lives.
QBCheck
Edward Fisher is the QBCheck Lead at The Private Therapy Clinic. Ed was trained to administer the cutting-edge ADHD tool by the QBTech Team. The QBCheck is a stimulus response task that suggests the likelihood an individual presents with ADHD by comparing their data on the task to a gender and age matched control group and gender and age matched ADHD group. The QBCheck breaks down the 3 core ADHD symptoms; inattentive, hyperactive, impulsivity and by tracking response time on the task and using a webcam to track movements with facial recognition technology it performs a detailed analysis. The test combines this data with a subjective rating scale to suggest the likelihood an individual presents with ADHD.
