Frances Klemperer studied medicine at Cambridge University and Guy’s Hospital, London.
She trained in psychiatry at Guy’s Hospital, where she conducted award-winning research into psychosis, publishing in the British Medical Journal and the British Journal of Psychiatry.
In addition, she holds the Institute of Psychiatry’s qualification in cognitive behavioural therapy, a field in which she is recognised by the Royal College of Psychiatrists as having special expertise. Her combined knowledge of psychiatry and psychotherapy allows her to make comprehensive assessments of her patients’ life difficulties.
She has worked as a therapist in London and Brussels.
Currently, she practices in the NHS in Westminster and in Kensington and Chelsea, is an honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College and has an independent practice. With over 20 years’ experience as a consultant in general adult psychiatry, she has extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions including anxiety disorders (panic disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, PTSD), mood disorders (depression, dysthymia and bipolar disorder), psychosis, personality disorder and ADHD.
Her aim is always to collaborate closely with her patients to properly understand their particular situation and to actively work with them to develop the most appropriate and effective long-term therapeutic plan.
