Dr Aisha Ali is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Aisha specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy and draws upon a variety of approaches and techniques. She uses her broad range of highly specialist skills to help improve the adjustment of people with psychological problems in a constructive way. She has experience of working with individuals and couples presenting with psychological problems of varying degrees of severity from mild to more complex mental illnesses using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Integrative and Psychodynamic frameworks as well as compassion focused and Mindfulness based therapies. She has a vast amount of experience working with sexual dysfunction and relationship problems and has previously worked at a specialised NHS Sexual Dysfunction and Relationship therapy Clinic. Aisha has an in-depth understanding of dysfunctional relationship patterns and can help people break these cycles. Aisha has experience supervising other therapists and is experienced in providing psychotherapy group work. She can provide bi-lingual therapy in Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and is learning Arabic.
In addition to providing treatment Aisha is experienced at carrying out assessments and report writing and has experience of liaising with Psychiatrists and G.P.’s. and other health care professionals where necessary. Aisha can provide brief crisis interventions with patients experiencing high levels of distress. Aisha has experience of carrying out research and she uses the results from the latest research studies to inform her practice.
