As we get into the winter months, it’s a great time of year to take stock of where we are at with our emotional and psychological health, and recalibrate.
However, for many sun worshippers it’s a time of year where less exposure to sunlight has a direct impact on their happiness. In this newsletter I talk about how to combat the condition known as Seasonally Affected Disorder
In this newsletter, I am also delighted to announce a new set of services and specialists joining the clinic, which expands our ever growing set of expertise and ability to help our patients solve their real world issues, and experience happiness and excellent psychological health.
On a personal level, it’s been a pretty busy month of media activity, and there’s an update on some interesting things happening at the practice.
Thanks for taking the time out to read this newsletter, and I greatly admire your commitment to be the change you want to see in your own life.
Until next time,
Dr Becky Spelman

Seasonal Affected Disorder (or SAD as it is more commonly known) is the mood related condition which sees sufferers adversely affected by changes in the seasons. For most people this means they feel worse and exhibit symptoms of depression during winter months, but some can suffer in other seasons, also. Like depression, symptoms can be very unique to each individual, but often we see signs of apathy, disinterest, lowered sex drive, and sluggish performance with work. Many people think of the condition as being something that just must be tolerated, but the good news is that sufferers can directly take action to lower their chances of feeling the disorder’s impact. To find out about seven tips that you can try to ward off SAD and overcome winter blues click here. Don’t forget you can schedule a free inital telephone chat with Dr Becky or one of Psychological practitioners at Private Therapy Clinic if you feel you would like our advice or support.
